Many are mistaken about this IDM. They think that by using this IDM, we can speed up internet connections so that the downloading process runs much faster. This is completely wrong.
How it works IDM only maximizes the speed of your internet connection so that nothing is idle when the downloading process takes place and helps us get the maximum speed from the server where you download. Well more clearly, this IDM works by dividing the request to the server into 8 parts (default) using a thread. Simply put, the downloading process that IDM does is simply breaking down the downloaded files into several small parts, then reuniting them in the same time into one file.
How to speed up download IDM
Although this IDM has helped a lot in the process of downloading, there are only people who are "still" less satisfied with the speed of downloading done by IDM. 1. Open your IDM, then select the Downloads> Options tab.
2. Change Connection Type / Speed to High speed: Direct connection (Ethernet / Cable) / Wi-Fi / 4G Mobile / other. Then change the Default max. conn. number from 8 to 16. After that, select OK.
Just the trick?
Yes, the trick is just that, nothing else. I do not use software such as IDM Optimizer, mengoprek Windows registry, using a proxy and so forth. Why don't you use it all? Will the download speed will increase 200 times? No, because it's all impossible, As much as possible, I don't want to mislead my blog readers. What determines the speed of downloading is 80% more than your own internet speed and the location / density of traffic from the server where you download, the rest is a bit of a tweak / oprek that the user does. So it is impossible for us to increase download speeds by 200 times this way.
In this tutorial, I only changed a few settings in IDM and changed the max connection to 16. Although the effect is not very pronounced, but rather, the downloading process that I did after configuring above increased 33%, from an average of 1.4Mb / s ( the top image) becomes 1.9Mb / s (image below). What I downloaded was the same file as the same server location (from the Microsoft server).
